Abstract
Background, Dysmenorrhea is common among adolescents and can disrupt activities and quality of life. In Indonesia, the prevalence reaches 64.25%. Lack of family knowledge and ineffective communication contribute to suboptimal pain management. Warm compresses are a non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce pain and increase comfort. Research purposes, Explaining the application of family nursing care to adolescents with ineffective health management problems through warm compress interventions. Research methods, A case study of five adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea using a knowledge questionnaire, pain scale, observation, and a warm compress standard operating procedure (SOP). The intervention was conducted over 3–4 days with pre–post evaluations. Research result, All respondents experienced moderate to severe pain, and family knowledge was lacking. A diagnosis of ineffective family health management was made. After three sessions of education and warm compresses, family knowledge improved, and pain decreased from severe to mild, ultimately resolving the problem. Conclusion, Warm compresses are effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain and improving the family's ability to manage health. Recommendation, Families are advised to use warm compresses as self-therapy and to improve adolescent health communication.
