Abstract

Background: A caesarean section is an artificial birth in which the fetus is removed by an incision in the abdominal wall and uterine/uterine wall if the uterus is intact and the fetus weighs more than 500 grams. Hypothermia can occur as a result of post-cesarean section anesthesia's threshold shift in thermoregulation, which causes the body to respond more quickly to a reduction in body temperature. To minimize hypothermia after spinal anesthesia, complementary midwifery care should include blanket warmers, effleurage massage, and acupressure with VCO. Objective: To provide complementary midwifery care in the Rahmah room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong by introducing warm blankets, effleurage massage, and acupressure with VCO following spinal anesthesia after caesarean delivery. Method: This research method uses case studies. According to the observation sheet, five participants experienced hypothermia. The five participants fulfilled the inclusion criteria. A temperature monitoring sheet was employed as the research instrument, both before and after delivering supplemental midwifery care. Results: After providing supplemental midwifery care to hypothermic patients following a caesarean section, 5 postpartum women were found to have a 100% increase in temperature, indicating that it was beneficial in treating hypothermia in post cesarean patients. Recomendation: Innovations in the use of blanket warmers, effleurage massage, and acupressure with VCO are required because they are useful in treating hypothermia after caesarean section.
