Abstract
Background, The World Health Organization (WHO) reported 2.7 million cases of perineal rupture in pregnant women worldwide in 2020, and this number is expected to reach 6.3 million by 2050. If the healing of perineal wounds is hampered, it can cause pain and fear of movement, leading to problems such as uterine sub-involution, unsmooth lochia discharge, and postpartum hemorrhage. Non pharmacological therapy, such as the use of betel leaves and honey, can be given to accelerate wound healing and prevent infection. Objective, To applying betel leaf and honey can accelerate the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers at TPMB Yustin Tresnowati, S.SiT., Bdn Methods, This research employed an analytical description with a case study approach. The study included 5 postpartum mothers, aged 2-7 day postpartum, who received betel leaf and honey intervention for 6 days, with administration in the morning and evening. Result, The wound healing score for the five respondents before the intervention showed that 20% were in poor criteria, and 80% were also in poor criteria. After the intervention, 100% of the respondents were in the good criteria. Recommendation, This obstetric care approach can be used as a reference to accelerate the healing of perineal wounds.
