Abstract

Background: This research is motivated by the importance of health as a primary factor in achieving well-being. The distribution of traditional medicines containing chemical ingredients poses a potential risk to consumers. This practice violates applicable laws and regulations. Objective: This Professional Project Practice aims to understand the role of the POM Agency in supervising traditional medicines containing chemical substances and to understand the legal provisions regarding consumer protection. Method: This research is qualitative and utilizes data collection techniques in the form of interviews conducted with the POM Center in Banyumas. Primary data consists of interview results, while secondary data consists of legislation and literature. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. Results: The research findings indicate that the POM Agency in Banyumas has provided legal protection for consumers of traditional medicines containing chemical ingredients. This protection includes pre-market and post-market monitoring, as well as sanctions against manufacturers who violate regulations
