Abstract

Background: The highest prevalence of Chronic Renal Failure in Indonesia is between the ages of 65-74 years of 8.23%. Hemodialysis is needed to extend and improve the quality of life of CRF patients. As long as the patient is able to undergo therapy until the patient's condition improves, the patient experiences various medical changes and psychological effects. CRF patients who undergo continuous therapy cause discomfort, weakness due to their physical limitations. As a result, it can cause internal and external problems that cause patients to experience a decrease in self-acceptance. Self-acceptance of his current condition is greatly influenced by changes during illness and therapy, such as rejection of his illness and unpreparedness for therapy. Objective: To determine self-acceptance in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital. Methods: This research is a quantitative descriptive. The sample/respondents used the total sampling method in hemodialysis patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital as many as 70 people. The instruments in this study used the SAS questionnaire. Data analysis using univariant. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents had good selfacceptance of 61 (87.1%) respondents. Conclusion: The majority of self-acceptance of patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital is good. Recommendation: Subsequent research examined the relationship between family support and self-acceptance in kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy.
