Abstract

Background: The high incidence of ischemic stroke, which often leads to limited physical mobility, necessitates innovative nursing interventions that can help restore patients' motor function. Mirror therapy was chosen for its potential to stimulate motor perception and reduce barriers to mobility recovery. Objective: Describe the results of nursing care using mirror therapy in ischemic stroke patients with impaired physical mobility at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: Descriptive case study research with 5 stroke patients as samples. Instruments include mirror therapy SOP, observation sheets, and mirrors. Results: There was an increase or positive change in the patient's physical mobility after the application of mirror therapy in nursing care. These findings suggest that mirror therapy can be a useful strategy in supporting the recovery of motor function in ischemic stroke patients with impaired physical mobility. Conclusion: Nursing care that includes mirror therapy has the potential to improve the rehabilitation outcomes of physical mobility of ischemic stroke patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital, so it is recommended to be considered in nursing practice and rehabilitation programs at similar facilities. Recommendation: Mirror therapy is recommended as an effective non-pharmacological nursing intervention in improving physical mobility in ischemic stroke patients.
