Abstract

Background: Prolonged labor is a childbirth complication contributing to high maternal mortality. This condition negatively affects both mother and baby. Non-pharmacological interventions like the Rebozo technique and lavender aromatherapy have proven effective in accelerating labor. However, studies on each intervention’s effectiveness remain limited. Objective: To identify respondent characteristics (age, parity, contractions, hemoglobin levels), assess intervention outcomes, measure the second stage duration after intervention, and analyze the relationship between the combination of Rebozo technique and lavender aromatherapy on the duration of the second stage of labor. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental post-test only design. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with observation sheets as instruments. A total of 32 laboring mothers were selected through purposive sampling. Results: Most respondents were of ideal age (75%), multiparous (65.6%), had normal hemoglobin levels (78.1%), and adequate uterine contractions (93.8%). About 65.6% of respondents received the intervention completely, and after the intervention, 93.8% experienced a shorter second stage of labor than the theoretical duration. The Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between the intervention and the duration of the second stage of labor (p = 0.044; X² = 4.073; OR = 1.222). Conclusion: Mothers receiving incomplete interventions had a 1.2 times higher risk of prolonged second-stage labor compared to those with complete interventions. Recommendation: Future research is advised to use a control group to compare the effectiveness of this intervention with other methods.
