Abstract
Background: Complementary is a treatment strategy that seeks to improve health through promotion, prevention, healing, and rehabilitation with a high level of safety and effectiveness, complementary therapy is a very important part of midwifery practice. Complementary therapy can provide added value to independent midwife practices by improving health service standards. Objective: To describe complementary midwifery services provided by midwives in TPMB in Kebumen Regency. Method: The method used in this study used a goggle form questionnaire that had been made by the researchers themselves. Data collection in this study was carried out using a questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The research was conducted on 81 midwives spread across the Kebumen Regency area using a quantitative descriptive approach through distributing questionnaires online. Research results: The results showed that 58% of respondents had implemented complementary midwifery care, with the most common method being massage (42%), while methods such as aromatherapy, birthball, and breathing techniques were rarely used. A total of 54.3% of respondents had attended complementary training, with massage being the most common training attended (21%). Most respondents rated this care as very effective (38.3%) or moderately effective (32.1%). The main challenges to implementation included limited training (32.1%), resistance from patients and the community (16% each), and lack of family support (14.8%). Conclusion: Complementary care has begun to be widely adopted by midwives in Kebumen, but still needs further training and education support to improve its implementation evenly and effectively. Rekommend: Future researchers are expected to develop the category of respondents and the research methods used.
