Abstract

Background : Mild head injuries are the most common disorder in adults. Acute pain is one of the most common symptoms in patients with mild head injuries. Slow and deep breathing relaxation therapy is one therapy that can be used to reduce acute pain. Objective : Analyzing nursing care by providing therapy in the form of Slow Deep Breathing Relaxation Actions to reduce the pain scale in patients with mild head injuries in the Emergency Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Regional Hospital Methodology : through a case report approach (case study) conducted on 5 patients with mild head injuries in the Emergency Room with the application of Slow Deep Breathing intervention. Research result : Nursing care carried out for 6-7 hours, mild head injury patients showed acute pain related to physical injury agents characterized by a decrease in the pain scale from moderate to mild category with a decrease in the pain scale. The results of nursing action innovation Slow Deep Breathing relaxation therapy in mild head injury patients experiencing acute pain showed a decrease in the pain scale, this shows that Slow Deep Breathing relaxation therapy is effective as a complementary therapy in reducing acute pain. Conclusion : Slow Deep Breathing relaxation therapy can be an additional therapy option to reduce acute pain in patients with mild head injuries. Recommendation : The recommendation from this study is the need to create a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the implementation of Slow Deep Breathing relaxation therapy.
