Abstract
Background, Family anxiety is a common emotional response when a loved one undergoes urgent treatment such as fracture surgery. Research purposes, This study aims to describe the level of anxiety among family members of pre-operative fracture patients in the Emergency Room of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong. Research method, This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 26 respondents were selected using total sampling. The Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed univariately and presented in frequency and percentage tables. Research result, The results showed that most respondents were over 40 years old (50%), female (76.9%), and had a senior high school education (50%). Furthermore, 46.2% experienced severe anxiety, 38.5% moderate anxiety, and 7.7% very severe (panic-level) anxiety. Conclusion, It can be concluded that the majority of families experienced high levels of anxiety before the patient's surgery. The study recommends regular health education and psychological support from healthcare professionals to help reduce anxiety and support families during crisis situations. Recommendation, Further research is recommended to examine the factors or causes of anxiety in families of pre-operative fracture patients
