Abstract

Background: A new family marked the beginning of a family unit formed with through the union of two individuals in marriage. Common problems experienced by new newlywed couples include a lack of information regarding pregnancy preparation and health issues, such as limited knowledge about pregnancy planning and the prevention of premature birth. Objective: To provide an overview of family nursing care for newlywed couples in the family development stage who experienced ineffective family health management problems in Langse Village, Karangsambung District. Methods: This case study employed a descriptive approach involving three newlywed couples who met the inclusion criteria. The intervention was conducted through six sessions, providing education on reproductive age, pregnancy nutrition, and prematurity. Data collection involved interviews, observation, and pretestposttest techniques. Results: The case study of the three respondents demonstrated an increase in knowledge and improved adaptation to pregnancy and parenthood preparation. Pretest scored improved from 60% to 100% in the posttest following the health education intervention. The study highlighted approaches and continued support in managing the health of newlywed couples. Conclusion: After six sessions, all the respondents showed improvement in cognitive understanding and gradual enhancement in nutritional status. Recommendation: Health education related to prematurity should be implemented for newly married couples as a strategy to addres ineffective family health management
