Abstract

Background: Back pain is a common complaint encountered during pregnancy. Although it may occur as early as the first trimester, it is most prevalent during the third trimester. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be utilized to alleviate back pain in third-trimester pregnant women is endorphin massage combined with classical music therapy. This approach has been shown to have a calming effect and contributes to pain reduction. Objective: The implementation of endorphin massage therapy and classical music as non-pharmacological interventions to reduce pain in third-trimester pregnant women. Method: This scientific paper employs a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review. The study applies endorphin massage therapy and classical music to third-trimester pregnant women experiencing back pain. The variables measured include pain levels, and the instrument used is a nursing care protocol. The intervention was administered for 15–20 minutes using the specified therapies. Results: Assessment revealed that the client experienced pain at a scale of 5–6, leading to a diagnosis of acute pain with nursing interventions focused on pain management. The non-pharmacological treatments administered were endorphin massage and classical music therapy for 15–20 minutes. Following the interventions, pain scale ratings decreased to 4–5, with reported reductions in pain complaints and grimacing. Recommendation: Endorphin massage therapy combined with classical music can reduce acute pain resulting from third-trimester pregnancy.
