Abstract

Background: Based on data from the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil), in 2021, the Indonesian population aged 60 and over was estimated at 30.16 million. By 2045, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) predicts that the number of elderly people in Indonesia will reach 19.90% of the total population. Elderly individuals experience several changes in physical function, including gouty arthritis. One technique for managing pain caused by uric acid buildup is physical activity in the form of ergonomic exercises. The purpose: Provides an overview of family nursing care at the stage of elderly development with ineffective family health maintenance using ergonomic exercise therapy. The research uses: This scientific paper uses a descriptive method, with a case study approach. Data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects of the case study are three families with an elderly development stage where one of the family members suffers from Arthritis Gout. The results of the case study: Interventions include identifying family problems, facilitating decision making, discussing therapy, preparing collaboration, and education. With the implementation of identifying family problems, discussing family therapy, preparing families for treatment, and ergonomic exercise therapy. The evaluation results showed that families were able to prevent health problems and improve health with the therapy program being run, and ineffective family health maintenance was resolved. Recommendation: Ergonomic exercise therapy is an effective way to treat joint pain problems and reduce uric acid levels in.
