Abstract

Background: Depression is a psychological disorder that often occurs in the elderly. One of the factors that influence depression elderly spiritual one. Spiritual depicted with a strength and confidence that can give peace and self-acceptance. By having a good spiritual will help seniors prevent mental or psychological disorders. Objective: To examine the relationship between spiritual program religiosity with depression elderly in unit social services elderly Wiloso Wredho Purworejo. Methods: This study used a correlation method with cross sectional approach. A sample of 60 elderly people were taken using sampling techniques saturated. Data were analyzed using descriptive and correlation analysis using Spearman rank test. Results: This study resulted in the finding that most of the elderly with a spiritual program religiosity enough category (85.4%). Most of the elderly in the category of moderate depression (78.0%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between spiritual program religiosity with depression elderly in unit social services elderly Wiloso Wredho Purworejo (p = 0.031).
