Abstract

Background: The treatment process in the ICU / ICCU room can cause a patient to get a stressful condition that triggers the occurrence of psychological disorders. Therapeutic treatments, such as deep breathing relaxation and psycho-religious therapy will help a patient to deal with the emerging stressors. Objective: To know the effect of the combination of deep breathing relaxation and psycho-religious therapy on stress level of post-treatment patient in ICU-ICCU of Dr. Soedirman hospital of Kebumen. Method: This study uses quasi-experiment approach with one group pretest – posttest design on 35 respondents. The data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon test. Result: This study resulting in the findings that z = (- 2.724) and p = (0,006 <0.05). This means deep breathing relaxation and psycho-religious therapy influence the stress level of post-treatment patient in ICU-ICCU of Dr. Soedirman hospital of Kebumen. Conclusion: There is an effect of the combination of deep breathing relaxation therapy and psycho-religious therapy on the stress level of post-treatment patient in ICU-ICCU of Dr. Soedirman hospital of Kebumen. Recommendation: A therapy is recommended as a supportive nursing intervention in the effort of decreasing stress levels of post-treatment patient in ICU-ICCU.
