Abstract

Background: Nurses have a tole in providing nursing services to reduce anxiety in children. Nurses who have a concern in providing nursing care to patients in the hospital are caring nurses. Objective: To know the description of carring behavior of nurse in pediatric patients in Purbowangi Gombong General Hospitals Method: This research use descriptive with case study approach. The sample in this study were 16 nurses taken in total sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Results: This study found that most of the nurses in the pediatric room and emergency departments Purbowangi Gombong General Hospitals were male (56.3%), aged > 30 years (62.5%), education D III (56.3%), long working in hospital>5 years (56.3%), and long working in Child Room/emergency departments<5 years (68.8%). All nurses (100%) entered caring category. Conclusion: All nurses (100%) in pediatric room and emergency departments Purbowangi Gombong General Hospitals entering caring category. Recommendation: Further research is expected to examine the relationship of caring behavior of nurse with patient satisfaction to nurse service
