Abstract
Background: Placenta expulsion is a part of active management of stage III in labor. Effective uterine contractions can speed up placenta expulsion and prevent bleeding. Early brest-feeding initiation is a factor that may affect the length of placenta expulsion. Objective: To know the application of early breast feeding initiation to speed up the process of placental expulsion in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Yuni Retnowati at Candirenggo, Ayah, Kebumen. Method: This research was conducted by using observational analytical method with a case study approach. The samples were 5 maternal mothers of physiological stage III. Result: After having application of early breast-feeding initiation to accelerate the process of placenta expulsion, 3 participants (60%) experienced smooth placenta expulsion within 5 minutes, 1 participant (20%) had smooth placenta expulsion within 4 minutes, and 1participant (20%) had placenta expulsion in 6 minutes.
