Abstract
Background: Fracture is a break of bone tissue continuity either total, partial to the long bones and joint tissue and blood vessel trauma. These fractures can cause one of them suffered hypovolemic shock. The hypovolemic shock of loss of blood volume of the body that came out due to rupture of blood vessels. Hypovolemic shock can be measured using the shock index. Objective: Finding out the shock index in patients with fractures at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospita l. Method: This study using a quantitative research desing descriptive research design analysis. These samples included 127 respondents who see the results of measuring the pulse rate and systolic blood pressure. Analysis of data using univariate descriptive used frequency distribution. Results: From the 127 respondents to get the 10 respondents get a shock index > 0.9 consists of grade 1 there are 6 respondents and grade 2 there are 4 respondents. Conclusion: Sexes - male, Aged 26 - 50 years old, traffic accident trauma mechanism, location femur fractures are very at risk of hypovolemic shock, as many as 10 respondents (7.9%) suffered hypovolemic shock in grade 1 there are 6 respondents and grade 2 there are 4 respondents. Recommendations: For further researchers who will continue with similar studies it can perform calculations on the shock index fracture patients directly.
