Abstract
Background, Leucorrhoea is one of the female reproductive health problems, indicated by excess liquid from the vagina. Long-lasting leucorrhoea along with itching and unpleasant odours, it possible to be a greater disease. Leucorrhoea can occur because of the fungi, bacteria, viruses, fatigue, hormonal and vulva hygiene. The right vulva hygiene behaviour such as cleaning genitalia with clean water, cleaning from the back (anus) toward the front (vagina). Objective, Determining the correlation between vulva hygiene behaviour to the incidence of leucorrhoea in undergraduate nursing students at Muhammadiyah Health Science Institute of Gombong. Method, This research used a purposive sampling method with a cross-sectional survey approach. The sample of this research was 82 respondents who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The collecting data by questionnaires and it’s analyzed by Kendall Tau. Result, In this research there were 22 respondents (26,8%) with quite a good vulva hygiene behaviour, 60 respondents (73,2%) with poor vulva hygiene behaviour. Respondents who suffered leucorrhoea were 74 respondents (90,2%) and the correlate value is 0,0265 and ρ value = 0,017. Conclusions, These 2 variables involved were analysed using Kendall Tau and shows correlation value = 0,0265 and ρ value = 0,017 (ρ < 0,05) its means there is a correlation between vulva hygiene behaviour to the leucorrhoea in undergraduate nursing students at Muhammadiyah Health Science Institute of Gombong. Suggestions, For the further researchers may aims to analysing the other factors leading to leucorrhoea and with longer research time by observations to respondents to reduce the value or subjective result of the researchers
