Abstract
Background: Everyone has the right to get help in reducing or reducing pain intensity, one of which is pain in children. Pain that is not handled in children properly will have a bad influence on physical, emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and psychological. Effective pain management can be hampered by poor communication between nurses and parents and lack of knowledge possessed by nurses in performing pain management in children. Objective: To find out the description of nurse actions in pain care in children in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study uses a descriptive method with a survey approach. The sample in this study were 32 nurses taken in total sampling. The research instrument used an observation sheet. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis. Research Results: Most nurses aged> 30 years (87.5%), female sex (65.6%), and D3 education (81.3%). Most of the nurses with pain treatment measures in children were sufficient (90.6%). Conclusion: Nurses' actions in treating pain in children in sufficient categories. Recommendations: In future studies it is expected to examine nurses' abilities in non-pharmacological pain management in pediatric patients.
