Abstract
Background: Compliance is the behaviour of a person in accordance with the recommended action against an order or procedure. Central Surgical Installation is one of the producers of waste including infectious solid medical waste, non-infectious solid medical waste, sharps waste and linen waste. Nurses play an important role in waste management in IBS, one of which is nurses’ compliance in disposal waste. Objective: Finding out of the level nurses compliance in waste disposal of the central surgical installation PKU Muhammadiyah of Gombong Hospital. Method: The study used quantitative descriptive design with observation method, there were 20 respondents of nurses in the installation room of the central surgical PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong hospital. Results: Based on observations obtained from the disposal of infectious solid medical waste in the highly compliant category 10 surgical anesthesia nurses (65%), disposal of non-infectious solid medical waste category very obedient 12 surgical nurses 5 anesthesia nurses (85%), disposal of sharp objects medical waste very obedient categories 12 surgical nurses 5 anesthesia nurses (85%), obedient linen waste disposal 10 surgical nurse respondents (66.6%) did not comply with 3 respondents (20%). Conclusion: Nurses' compliance in the category is very adherent to the disposal of infectious, non-infectious solid medical waste, sharps waste and linen waste. Recommendation: Further researcher will make more in-depth observations regarding compliance with waste disposal
