Abstract

Background: Asthma is an inflammatory respiratory disease characterized by shortness of breath, coughing, heavy chest. Asthma patients have problems with the ineffectiveness of breathing patterns when an individual experiences an actual or potential loss of ventilation associated with breathing patterns, to solve this problem a semi-Fowler position is taken. Writing Objectives: Describe nursing care with problems of ineffective breathing patterns in asthma patients Methods: This scientific paper uses a descriptive analytic method using the case study approach. Data obtained by interview, observation, physical examination, medical record documentation. Results: The results of a case study are actions taken giving a semi-fowler position for 3 days so as to reduce shortness of breath. For Mrs. S on the first day still feels shortness of breath and for Mr. H's shortness of breath has been slightly reduced. On the second and third day Mrs. S and Tn. H's shortness of breath has decreased. Recommendation: Position the semi-fowler to facilitate air circulation or reduce shortness of breath in the body.
