Abstract
Background: The prevalence of LBW according to WHO (2018) is estimated at 15% of all births in the world with a limit of 3.3% -3.8% and is more common in developing countries or lower socio-economics. LBW can experience respiratory problems as a result of inadequate lung surfactant deficiency. The pronation position greatly influences the improvement of oxygen saturation, lung development, chest wall development and decreased incidence of apnea in premature infants Objective: to describe the results of low birth weight baby nursing care with the ineffectiveness of breath patterns in the Melati Room of Prof. RSUD dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument uses a Pronation Position SOP sheet. Data obtained from the results of observation of interviews, physical examinations, and study documentation. The subjects consisted of 3 low birth weight babies with the main problem being ineffective breathing patterns. Results of nursing care: The results of the studies carried out on LBW patients obtained the main complaint data that was felt was the ineffectiveness of the breath pattern. Priority nursing diagnoses in LBW patients are ineffective breathing patterns, hyperterm risk, nutritional imbalance. Nursing interventions carried out are oxygen action with innovative nursing actions in pronation positions. The implementation of nursing is oxygen action: observation of TTV, nostrils, chest retraction, giving therapy 2 l / m, positioning semi fowler, maintaining patency of airway suction, and giving pronation position. The results of nursing evaluations in LBW patients, nursing problems ineffective breathing patterns are overcome by an indication of a decrease in Respiratory rate (RR). Nursing action innovations pronation positions effectively deal with Ineffectiveness of Breath Patterns in infants of low birth weight. After nursing the pronation position shows a decrease in the Respiratory rate (RR) 5 Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for management of LBW who experience ineffective breathing patterns associated with hyperventilation using nursing pronation positions
