Abstract
Background: Congestive heart failure is a disease of concern in the world today, because congestife heart failure is the highest cause of death in the world. Symptoms that arise are pain, intolerance and shortness of breath. When there is shortness of breath the client usually cannot sleep in a lying position, but must be in a sitting or half-sitting position to relieve the airway narrowing and fulfill oxygen in the blood. The most effective position for clients with complaints of shortness of breath is a semi-fowler position where the head and body are raised with a slope of 45o. Objective: to describe the analysis of nursing care ineffective breathing patterns in congestive heart failure clients at mawar room RSUD Prof. dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital Purwokerto Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument uses an observation sheet for signs of the ineffectiveness of the breath pattern and the SOP for the semi fowler position. Data obtained from the results of observation of interviews, physical examinations, and study documentation. The subjects consisted of 3 adult patients who had congestive heart failure with a lazy nursing ineffective breathing pattern. Results of nursing care: The results of a study conducted on patients with congestive heart failure obtained data on the main complaint that was felt was shortness of breath. Priority nursing diagnoses in patients with congestive heart failure are ineffective breathing patterns associated with hyperventilation. Nursing interventions carried out are airway management and semi fowler administration. Nursing implementation is carried out namely airway management. The author also applies semi fowler. The results of nursing evaluations in patients with congestive heart failure, showed a decrease in RR 5-8 after changes in the position of the patient were half seated. Recommendation: It is expected that the semi-fowler position can be applied in nursing practice in patients with congestive heart failure especially for patients who experience shortness of breath.
