Abstract

Background: The preschool period is called the golden period, the window of opportunity, and the critical period. Aspects of early childhood development include gross motor skills, fine motor skills, intellectual, moral, emotional, social, cognitive, and language. One of the factors that influence children's development is one of them gadgets. Children will prefer to play gadgets, causing children to be lazy to move and activity Objective: To find out the use of gadgets to the development of pre-school age children. Research Method: This study uses a correlational design with a cross sectional approach. The sample was 55 children taken by simple random sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively and correlated with Kendal tau Result: Use of gadgets in the frequent category (60.0%). The development of preschool age children (gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language, social and independence) in the doubtful category (76.4%). There is a relationship between the use of gadgets and the development of pre-school age children. Conclusion: The more often pre-school children use gadgets, the more they doubt the development. Recommendations: Future studies can conduct different studies at the level of development of school-age children, for example the role of parental stimulation in the development of pre-school age children.
