Abstract

Background: Hypovolemic shock is the most common cause of a large amount of blood loss, failure in the management of hopovolemic shock patients has a negative effect that can cause death less than 24 hours or 48 hours since entering the Emergency Room (IGD) so identification signs of shock must be known, including by monitoring the shock index (SI). Objective: Finding of the relationship between shock index and predictors of death in hypovolemic shock patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospitl. Method: This research used quantitative research methods with descriptive analysis design. In this study using a retrospective cohort study approach, in which research of the data respondents numbered 52 patient. Results: Based on the research, the data obtained SI value> 0.9, there were 7 patients (15.6%) who died <24 hours, there were 38 (84.4) patients died> 24-48 hours, while patients who died with SI values < 0.9 there were 0 patients (0%) at time <24 hours and 7 patients (100%) died at> 24-48 hours, Fisher's Exact Test showed p = 0.574. Conclusion: There is no association between SI as a predictor of death in patients with hypovolemic shock. Recommendation: For further researchers should be more analyzing comorbidities that can affect hypovolemic shock.
