Abstract
Background: the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is very important as a precaution against the transmission of poets in isolation rooms and in an effort to reduce the risk of contracting the disease. One that is at risk of contracting the disease from patients is visitors or families who visit the Hospital The use of personal protective equipment is very important to use in order to minimize unwanted events. There are various types of personal protective equipment that can be used at the hospital to protect the skin and mucous membranes from the risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, secretions, excreta, skin that is not intact and mucous membranes from patient to officer and vice versa. Objective: to finding out the corelation of kwowladge and behavior of patient visitors with personal protective equipment in the isolation room of Dr Soedirman hospital at kebumen. Methods: This study used a descriptive correlational method with a cross sectional approach and included a type of non-experimental research. Results: The results of this study indicate that there is a significant corelation between the level of knowledge and visitor behaviour of patients with the use of personal protective equipment in the isolation room of RSUD Dr. Sudirman Kebumen with Chi-Square P <0.05 which is P = 0.00. Conclusion: based on the results of research the level of knowledge influences a person's behavior, and education is one of the knowledge factors that plays a role in the level of knowledge person. Recommendation: For further research it is expected to be able to discuss the factors that influence the use of personal protective equipment in rooms that are at high risk of transmission
