Abstract
Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease that requires further treatment by controlling various factors that might arise. Compliance with patients in adhering to the diabetes mellitus diet is very important to stabilize glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Objective: To find out about the factors that can affect adherence to diet in diabetes mellitus patients in the Prolanis kelopok Adimulyo Health Center. Method: This study was an observational analytic type with a cross sectional design. A sample of 60 respondents was taken by total sampling technique. Results: Compliance of patients with diabetes mellitus, the majority of respondents were quite obedient as many as 32 respondents (53.3%). There is an influence of age, duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus education, knowledge, income, participation in nutrition counseling, regularity of health checks by adhering to the diet of patients with diabetes mellitus with a value of p <0.005. There was no influence of sex in adherence to the diet of militus diabetes patients with a value of p> 0.005. Conclusion: Factors that influence adherence to diit DM include age, duration of diabetes mellitus diabetes education, knowledge, income, participation in nutritional counseling, health check regularity and factors that do not influence compliance with diabetes treatment diit is gender. Recommendation: For health workers to know more about the recommended diet for diabetes mellitus patients so that it can make a good diet management diabete militus.
