Abstract

Background: Complementary food ASI (MP-ASI) is introduced to babies after the age of 6 months. Proper administration of MP ASI not only interferes with the nutritional intake that the baby should have but also disrupts the digestion of the baby. Mother's behavior in giving MP-ASI, both in terms of timeliness, type of food, and the amount of food is determined by the mother's knowledge of MP ASI. Efforts to increase the knowledge of mothers through extension activities are needed to prevent mothers from making mistakes in introducing food for their children. Objective: To implement the making of complementary foods made from homemade no gulgar to improve the skills of mothers in providing complementary breastfeeding for children aged 6-12 months at PMB Hariyati, Adimulyo, Kebumen. Methods: The researcher used a descriptive analytical method with a case study approach. This application involved 5 participants as a case study. Results: The results of the case study showed that before being given training on complementary food (MP-ASI) homemade gulgar complementary foods, all participants gave complementary food (MP-ASI) according to their age and portion of administration. After being given training on complementary food (MP-ASI) homemade gulgar supplementary food, all participants gave complementary food (MP-ASI) according to age and portion of administration. The application of making complementary food (MP-ASI) homemade no gulgar supplementary food effectively increases body weight in children aged 6-12 months, all of their child participants gain weight in the range of 0.05-0.1 kg. Conclusion: the application of making complementary foods made from homemade no gulgar to effectively improve the skills of mothers in providing complementary breastfeeding for children aged 6-12 months at PMB Hariyati, Adimulyo, Kebumen
