Abstract
ackground: Perineal rupture can occur in mothers during childbirth, as in America there are 26 mothers experiencing perineal rupture. While in Australia there are 20,000 mothers who experience perineal rupture every year. This is due to the midwife's ignorance of knowledge about midwifery care. In Asia there are 50% of cases of perineal rupture in the world. Perineal rupture can be treated by applying super-crowning massage. This application can also improve health, blood flow and elasticity of the perineum. Objective: To determine the effect of super crowning massage to reduce perineal rupture during labor at the midwifery clinic Hj. Maunah in Klirong, Kebumen. Method: This research is a descriptive analytic with a case study approach. Participants were 5 mothers in labor during labor. Data obtained through interviews and observations. Results: After using super-crowning massage, there was no effect of massage on the reduction of maternal perineal rupture during labor. Conclusion: Super-crowning massage is not effective for reducing active phase perineal rupture in the first stage
