Abstract

Background:Complication that often accur during hemodialysis are hypoglycemia, acondition in which blood glucose levels in the body do not match those needed by the body, wich is less than 70mg/dl in fact, glucose is a major factor in metabolism and its presence is very important in the body. Many factors influence the incidence of hypoglycemia in patients when they are finished doing hemodialysis, including too many meals. Objective: To determine the relationship between meal portions during hemodialysis with blood sugar levels in the Hemodialysis Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: this study is a descriptive correlation with a cross sectional approach. Samples of 35 HD patient were taken by consecitive sampling technique. Conclusion: There is a correlation between meal portions during hemodialysis with blood sugar levels in the Hemodialysis Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with a value of p=0.000 Recommendation: The hospital is recommended to perform adquate hemodialysis services for patient and pay more actention to the patients meal portion when HD.
