Abstract
Background: Laparatomy is one of the major surgical procedures whose prevalence in PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital is quite large, recorded from January to June 2018 there were 156 cases. The problem that often cocurs in postoperative laparatomy patient ia pain. Pain will be more severe without management of pain management. One of the non-pharmacological pain management is back massage with effleurage technique. Objective: To analyze the effect of relax effleurage back massage therapy on the pain level of post laparatomy patient. Method: This study is a quasi Experimental study, with a pretest-posttest design with control group design and a total sample of 44 patient post laparatomy surgery divided into 2 group, namely 22 respondents in the control group and 22 respondent in the intervention group. Result: The characteristic of the respondents in the control group and the intevention group wee motly 36-65 years old and were male and had low education. the level of poin in patients before being given a volanary therapy intervention effleurage back massage is of medium scale. The level of pain of patients after being given a voluntary therapy intervation effeurage back massage is amild scale. Conclusions: There is an effect of voluntary effleurage back massage therapy on the pain level of post laparatomy surgery patients in the PKU Muahmmadiyah Sruweng Hospital with a value of p=0.000 Recommendation: The Hospital should improve the quality of postoperative patient service by applying efffleurage back massage therapy as afixed procedure.
