Abstract

Background: Toilet training on todlers is an effort to train todlers to be able to do urination and defecation. There are 2 techniques that parents can apply – oral technique and modeling technique. Oral technique is done by giving instructions to their todlers, while modeling technique is done by asking them to imitate others. Objective: To find out the application of counseling about oral technique and modeling technique in the ability of toilet training readiness for toddlers in independent midwifery clinic of Midwife Suryati, Amd. Keb. In Kebumen. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. This involved 5 participants as case studies. Result: There were 3 todlers had physical ability readiness (60%), while 2 todlers (40%) were said to be not physically ready. There were 3 todlers had mental ability readiness (60%), while 2 todlers (40%) were said to be not mentally ready. There were 3 todlers had ability of toilet training readiness (60%), while 2 todlers (40%) were said not to be ready. Conclusion: Application of counseling about oral technique and modeling technique is effectively to improve the ability of toilet training readiness of toddlers.
