Abstract
Background: the Craniotomy is any surgical action by partially opening the skull bone (cranium) to access the intracranial structure. Endotracheal suction (ETS) is an action procedure that aims to keep the patient’s airway clean by inserting suction catheter into the patient’s endotracheal tube then the patient’s lung secretion is removed using negative pressure. Objective: Aims to show the results of nursing innovation action that is suction on post craniotomy patient installed ventilator. Method: this research design using descriptive research method. Subjects in this case study were patients with postoperative craniotomy in the ICU room with a total of 3 respondents. Results: of the three patients after the endotracheal suction action was obtained a temporary decrease of SpO2, reduced secretion produsction. Recommendations: it is expected that the suction action is always reviewed for changes in oxgyen saturation end monitoring the patient’s hemodynamic changes.
