Abstract
Background : Hyperthermi is event where the body temperature is above normal. Fever occurs because of the inability of the heat loss mechanism to compensate for excessive heat production so that an increase in body temperature. Management of fever is very useful to reduce the feeling of discomfort felt by patients. Pharmacological treatment is by antipyretic and non-pharmacological administration is by water tepid sponge. Based on the results of the preliminary study, 89 patients with Hipertermi were obtained in October-December 2018 in Dahlia Room in Prof.dr.Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital Objective : To know the analysis of that given to th patients with hyperthermia in Prof.dr.Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital Method : This study used a descriptive method by analyzing water tepid sponge application on hyperthermia. Result : After the application of water tepid sponge, in the first pastint there was a decrease in temperature of 420C to 39.80C, in second patient there was a decrease in temperature of 38.50C to 37.60C, in the third patient there was a decrease in temperature of 38.80C to 380C. Conclusion : There is a decreasing temperature in patients with hypertermia after water tepid sponge’s application Recommendation : For the next researcher do not give antipyretic therapy during the application of water tepid sponge in order to find out the effectiveness of reducing body temperature purely from the application of water tepid sponge.
