Abstract
Background: Scientifically, green-bean contains natural vitamin B complex that can improve the health of breastfeeding mothers, and can help produce breast-milk. Breast-milk is a natural nutrient having the most suitable nutrient content for optimal growth of a baby. The principle of nutrition of breastfeeding mothers is closely related to the production of breast-milk. Objective: To apply green bean extract to increase the production of breast-milk in independent midiwfery clinic of Midwife Yustin Tresnowati S.SiT at Rowokele, Kebumen. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. This application involved 5 participants as a case study. The instruments were observation sheets and Procedural Operation Standard. Result: After having application of green bean extract, there was an increase in the production of breast-milk of postpartum mothers, i.e. from 80% (not smooth category) became 100 % (smooth category). Conclusion: the application of green-bean extract is effective in increasing breast-milk production. Recommendation: Midwives are expected to apply green-bean extract on breastfeeding mothers to overcome and prevent breastfeeding problems and postpartum mothers are expected to implement what the midwife suggests.
