Abstract
Background: Breastfeeding self-efficacy is a mother’s belief in her ability to successfully breastfeed her baby. The use of media in lactation counseling can greatly influence the absorption of the information conveyed. The application of supporting package (practice, video, health education using leaflet media) can increase breastfeeding self-efficacy of postpartum mothers. Objective: To apply the breastfeeding supporting package for increasing breastfeeding self-efficacy of postpartum mothers Method: This study an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. This application involved 5 participants as a case study. The instruments were questionnaire and observation sheet. Result: After applying the breastfeeding supporting package, there was an increase in self-efficacy of all participants, i.e. from 60 % (less category) became 80 % (sufficient category). In addition, there was an increase (100 %) in the production of breast-milk of all participants, and the increase of breastfeeding self-efficacy was 80 %. Conclusion:The application of breastfeeding supporting package can effectively increases breastfeeding self-efficacy of postpartum mothers. Recommendation: Midwives are hopefully conduct self-efficacy assessment on postpartum mothers and health education about exclusive breastfeeding to increase their breastfeeding self-efficacy.
