Abstract
Background: The less usage of IUD as contraceptive may be caused by some factors, and one of them is the bad knowledge. There are 20 IUD acceptors in Community Health Centre of Sempor, and there 2 in Sampang village. One of the ways how to improve the knowledge of fertile aged-women is by giving health counseling using leaflet and audio visual media. They are effective media because they are portable and more varied. Objective: Giving midwifery care to fertile aged-women by using leaflet and audio visual media for improving knowledge about IUD. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive. The data were obtained through interview, observation conducted on February 4, 2019. Pre-test and posttest questionnaire were used to measure the knowledge level. Result: After being given counseling using leaflet and audio visual media, there was an increasing score from 60 became 80. It is true that these kinds of media are very effective for improving the knowledge of fertile aged-women about IUD. Conclusion: Leaflet and audio visual media are effective for improving the knowledge of fertile aged-women in the counseling IUD contraceptive. The score of each participant was increasing after having counseling using leaflet and audio visual media
