Abstract
Background: The drop out rate of DPT/HB1-Measles immunization had increased to 4.1% in 2017 compared to 2016 which was 2.4%. This is because the fear of the side effects of immunization, such as pain. It is the side effect of injecting immunization that can cause distress on infants and their mothers. To reduce this kind of pain, non-pharmacological intervention, such as Family Tripple Support (FTS) can be conducted. Objective: To know the application of Family Triple Support (FTS) on pain response of infants during DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) immunization in the age of 4-6 months old. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. The participants were 5 babies. The instruments were observation sheets of Modified Behavioral Pain Scale (MBPS). Data were obtained through interviews and observation. Result: After applying Family Triple Support FTS, there was an increase of pain response, i.e. 4 participants in the category of light pain (80%), and only 1 participant in the category of severe pain response (20%). Conclusion: The application of Family Triple Support (FTS) is effective to increase the pain response of infants in the age of 4 – 6 months old during immunizing of DPT (diphtheria, dertussis, tetanus).
