Abstract

Background: There are 5 – 10% of postpartum mothers in the world who experience perineum trauma. Perineum wounds must really be taken care. Nutritional factors, especially protein, greatly influence the healing process of perineum wounds. This is because protein has a special function that cannot be replaced by other nutrients, namely growth, maintenance of body tissues, and tissue repair. High-quality protein is widely found in animal protein, such as eggs. In addition to nutritional factors, kegel gymnastics can help to accelerate wound healing. Objective: Applying boiled-eggs and kegel gymnastics to accelerate the healing of perineum wounds in independent midwifery clinic of Midwife Dwi Sumarni at Kajoran, Karanggayam, Kebumen Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. This application involved 5 postpartum mothers as participants. Result: After having 7 times application of boiled-eggs and kegel gymnastics, there was an acceleration of the healing of perineum wounds of all participants in the fast category. Conclusion: The application of boiled-eggs and Kegel gymnastics is effective in accelerating the healing of perineum wounds.
