Abstract

Background: Lack of knowledge about reproductive health may have impact on sexual activity of adolescents. According to Basic Health Research (2010), there were 15,9% boys aged 18 years had ever done sexual intercourse and 10,1% girls aged 18 years ever did too. Furthermore, there were 5 of 10.000 adolescents aged 10-14 years had ever been pregnant and 771 of 10.000 adolescents aged 15-19 years had ever been pregnant too. Therefore, to improve reproductive health knowledge of adolescents, the writer applied focus group discussion method to improve adolescent's knowledge about reproductive health. Objective: To determine the improvement of adolescent's knowledge about reproductive health by using focus group discussion method. Method: This scientific study is a quantitative descriptive with a case study approach. This study was conducted from February-March 2019. The participants were 5 young girls. Data were obtained through discussion, direct observation and documentation. Result: After conducting a discussion using focus group discussion method, there was an improvement of knowledge of all participants, i,e, to be well informed. Conclusion: Focus group discussion method can help adolescents improve their knowledge about reproductive health.
