Abstract
Background: The application of effective semifowler and cough positions in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis has been carried out as a way to reduce shortness of breath. Semi fowler position is done to maximize lung function and to the stability of the breath pattern in patients with pulmonary TB, effective coughing is done to eliminate excessive secretions (sputum) on the ineffective airway clearance. Objective: to find out the effectiveness of semi fowler anf cough effective position for patients with pulmonary TB with problems with ineffective airway clearance Nursing Care Results: The results of this study indicate that the application of semi-fowler and cough positions can effectively reduce the respiratory rate within the noemal limit, increase oxygen saturation within normal limits, and increase vesicular sound. Conclusion: The results of the evaluation on the three patients after being applied for the semi fowler and cough effective position of shortness of breath, phlegm can come out and reduced sputum production.
