Abstract
Background: Old age will occur setbacks in body organs. Physiological function in the elderly has decreased due to degenerative processes (aging) so that many non-communicable diseases appear one of which is rheumatism. The results of Riskesdas 2013 showed that the prevalence of joint disease based on the diagnosis of health workers in Indonesia in 2013 was 24.7%. Pain experienced by rheumatic clients obatined an average pain scale of six. Now non-pharmacological therapy has been developed based on Islam, namely dhikr. General: Analyzing gerontik nursing care with acute pain problems in Karangreja Village, Maos District, Cilacap. Results: The results of the assessment of 3 clents are pain in the hands, feet, stiff joints, more severe in the morning, the pain scale is 7.6 and 7. The priority of nursing diagnosis is acute pain associated with biological injury agents. Interventions and implementations carried out are explaining to the clients and family about the causes of pain, assessing and monitoring the scale and location of pain, observing nonverbal reactions from discomfort, controlling the environment and teaching non-pharmacological therapy by dhikr to reduce pain. Nursing evaluation of the client problems is resolved the client pain is reduced, looks relaxed and comfortable, the apin scale: 3. Recommendation: Giving non-pharmacological therapy with dhkir to elderly patients has succeed in reducing pain felt by the elderly from moderate to severe scale to mild scare.
