Abstract
Background: Elderly people will experience many changes and decreases in physical and psychological function, this will cause various problems in the elderly who will influence in assessing themselves. One of the mental nursing interventions that can help the elderly to solve the problem of low self-esteem by doing life review therapy Objective: to describe the results of analysis of nursing care for the elderly with the main problem of low self-esteem in Sidoharum, Sempor, Kebumen Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. Case study instrument using SOP Life Review Therapy. Data obtained from the results of observat ion of interviews, physical examinations, and study documentation. Subjects consisted of 3 elderly people who had problems with low self-esteem. Results of nursing care: The priority nursing diagnosis in elderly patients is low self-esteem. Nursing interventions carried out were Self esteem enhancement with the innovation of Life Review actions. The results of nursing evaluations in the elderly, indicate a decrease in signs of symptoms of low self-esteem. The relaxation action innovation, life review effectively reduces the signs of low self-esteem symptoms. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be a reference for the elderly in overcoming the problem of low self-esteem using life review.
