Abstract
Background: Mother, theclosest one who looks after under five children has a big role in the prevention of diarrheal disease. The high incidence of diarrhea in under five children shows that the behavior of mothers in the prevention of diarrheal disease is still not optimal. Objective: to identify the mother behavior of under five children to prevent diarrhea in children at Karangsambung, Karangsambung Community Health Center. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with survey approach. There were 35 samples taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Results: Most mothers gave exclusive breastfeeding tounder five children (85.7%), age-appropriate complementary breastfeeding (88.6%), used clean water (82.9%), washed hands with soap and water (100.0%), defecated in latrines (65.7%), throwed babies’stool in the toilet (80.0%), and immunized their under five children against measles (97.1%). Conclusion:The mother behaviors of under five children to prevent diarrhea in children at Karangsambung, Karangsambung Community Health Center were at good category (88.6%).
