Abstract
Background: An operation is an action carried out with the collabotion of the nursing administration of analgesics that have an impact on the patients hemodynamic. Airway management study in patients with postoperative in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Objective: knowing overviewairway management in patients post operations in Post Anesthesia Care Unit with general anesthesia in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: Design of descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. The population in the study amounted to 625 patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Sample of 125 respondents taken, by Pusposive sampling.Instrument collection tool uses an observation sheet that was adopted from previous studies. Result: From the data characteristics for this type of surgery the majority of wich used general anaesthesia is the kind of major surgery as much as 64 (51.2%). Frequency distribution data shows airway manajement in patient in the Post Anaethesia Care Unit postoperative mostly in the category of pretty much 91 (72.8%), patency of the airway 80 (64.0%), Support Oxygen 70 (56.0%), Monitoring of airway 65 (52,0%). Conclusion: The reserch results from airway management consist of patenting the airway, support by giving O2, and monitoring the patients breathing. Recommendation: For consideration nurse anesthesia to perform an in depth assesment and preparing the patient at this stage of pre-anesthesia and postoperative for providing surveilance in patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit after surgery.
