Abstract
Background: Self-care deficit is one of the problems that arise in clients with mental disorders, chronical mental disorder clients often experience carelessness in caring for themselves. To overcome self-care deficit in mental dosorder patients, group activity therapy can be done, one of them is stimulation that triggers a positive perception of himself. Writing purpose: analyze the therapy of bathing & dressing self-care group activities in patients who experience self-care deficits in Dosa Raso Home of Kebumen. Method: This paper uses a descriptive method using case studies. The subject consisted of 2 participants with self care deficit problems. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and decreased self care deficit signs and increased ability to carry out daily activities. Each time therapy is given is 20 minutes and 4 meetings are held. Results: The evaluation results of patients self-care deficit after group activity therapy, client 1 (K1) received symptom score of 30 for capacity building and client score 2 (K2) received 2 symptom scores. Where as client 1 gets a score 30 for capacity building and client 2 gets a 2 score of 23 for capacity building. It can be concluded that client 1 (K1) experienced an increase in the ability to conduct self-care bath & dress up group activities more than client 2 (K2). Recommendations: Researchers can develop self-care group activity therapy to reduce symptoms & the ability of clients with self-care deficits, then should be able to use it better, especially done at Dosa Raso Home of Kebumen.
