Abstract
Background: Depression is the conditional of someone feeling depreed where these conditions can cause emotions such as someone's anger marked by sadness or feeling of worhlessness and gulilty of losing interest in activities, which can lead to a significant decrease the better communication that parents make to the child, the smaller the occurrence of depression in adolescents. Objective: To determine the communication relationship between parent and the level of depression adolescents of class X and XI at Muhammadiyah Gombong High School.. Research Method: This study uses a descriptive correlation method with a cross sectional approach. The research sample amounted to 107 respondents taken in total sampling. Data collection using aquestionnare analyzed descriptively then correlation using yhe chi square test. Research Results: based on research conducted in Jume 2019, the results showed that of the 107 respondents the highest percentage was communication of parents in the democratic category whith 94 respondents (87.9%). From the result of the statistical test with chi square obtained a significant value of p value =0.001<rs 0.05. Conclusion: There is relationship between the type of communication of parents with the level of depression in adolescents of class X and XI in Muhammadiyah Gombong High School.
