Abstract
Background: Mild head injury is head trauma with a Glasglow Coma Scale (GCS)va;ue of 14-15 which is characterized by dizziness, acute pain, laceration, abrasion and hematoma. Pain is a complaint that often occurs in mild head injuries, which is about 82% of the scale of severe to mild pain ( Wijayaksti, 2009). One technique to deal with pain is with non-pharmacological techniques. Slow Deep Breathing (SDH) is a breathing technique with a breathing frequency of less than 10 times per minute with a long inhalation phase which can cause a relaxing effect. Objective: The persentcase study aimed at determining the effect of SDB training on acute headache in patients with mild bead injury. Method: It was descriptive design with a case study approach, using 2 mild head injury patients who were given 3 days of implementation for 15 minutes each. Results: the case study showed a significant effect on the intensity of acute headache of mild head injury patients i.e.the first patients with moderate to mild pain scale and the second patient with mild to mild pain scale. Conclution There was a significant effect on the sacle of pain before and after performing of the SDB technique. Recommendation: The SDB can be carried out with mild head injury patients as non-pharmacological management to reduce the intensity of acute pain.
