Abstract
Background: Hypertension is one of degenerative disease which are categorized as the silent killer because sufferers is not aware of his conditions puntil occur complications such as coronaty heart desease, stroke, and chronic kidney disease. hypertension can be caused by tense blood vessels so the way we can do is making muscles in the body relax. One effective non-pharmacological method is progressive muscle relaxation. This method is easier and more effecient because it does not require a lot of equipment, and has been proven to reduce blood pressure. Objective: To describe nursing care and application by giving progressive muscle relaxationto descrease blood pressure. Method: This cientific paper is a case study approach. Data were collected from interview, direct observation and physical examination which after did the treatment on two subjects. There was a result then being valued. Result: After having progressive muscle relaxation for 3 days (once time a day) i 15 minutes there mmHg. Conclusion: After having progressive muscle relaxaxtion is effective for decreasing blood pressure of hypertension patiens. Recommendation: it is advisable for hypertension patoents to do progressive muscle relaxation to reduce high blood pressure.
